A swap puts a real person's face into new material. Faceswaping (the Company) allows that only with the person's consent, and removes what breaks these rules.
Consent and age
Save a face only if it is yours or the person has agreed to it. Being able to find a photo of someone is not consent.
Everyone shown must be an adult. That covers the face you save and everyone in the photo or video it goes onto.
No minors, in any context. Not as a face, not in a photo or video, not in a generation, not drawn, and not made to look younger.
What is not allowed
No material meant to harass, threaten or humiliate a person.
No material meant to deceive: fake evidence, fake endorsements, scams.
No impersonating a real person to mislead others.
No sharing a generation of someone who has not agreed to it being shared.
Nothing that is illegal where you are.
How files are checked
The photos, videos and faces you add are held aside and screened by an automated service before anything serves them. A flagged file is deleted and refused.
A file the screening could not reach is served and looked at again over the following day. Flagged then, it comes down; still unanswered after that, it is pulled out of view and left for a person to decide.
Generations are not screened. What goes into a swap is checked; what comes out of it is stored as it is.
Files sent to the API by link are checked as the swap is launched, and a flagged one refuses the swap.
If the screening service cannot be reached, a file is stored rather than refused, and looked at afterwards. An outage of the check is not allowed to become an outage of the tool, and it is not a way past these rules either.
Reports are reviewed by a person.
Reporting and enforcement
Report material at faceswap.ing/takedown, or by email to faceswaping@proton.me with a link to it. If you are the person shown, say so.
The form covers both a person's likeness and copyright: the two follow the same review, so there is one place to send either.
Every report is recorded with what was sent and what was decided, whether it is upheld or not, and you get a reference back to quote.
A confirmed violation bans the account and suspends the organizations it owns, and the reported material is taken down. Everyone in a suspended organization loses access until the suspension is lifted, and the swapz in it stay where they are and are not refunded.
